I am excited to let you know that my favorite to-the-trade furnishings, lighting, and accessories are now available to purchase directly from the NHOS website through a new digital innovator (in the interiors space) called Sidedoor.
Sidedoor is a multi-line virtual showroom that offers all my go-to trade brands in one place - allowing NHOS to expand service offerings to clients and blog readers (spoiler: readers can now be clients without actually hiring me!). Placing orders is effortless and Sidedoor offers integrated processing, shipping, delivery and customer service.
A little bit more for the sake of transparency - I will earn a commission off of my Sidedoor collection sales, just like I would if I were reselling wholesale furniture to a design client or if you were to click one of my affiliate links (more on this in FAQs.) I think it is really important to be transparent and pull the curtain back (all puns intended) to talk about what it really means to hire an interior decorator to design, manage, and install your home projects.
For NHOS, I want to offer varied levels of service and Sidedoor allows me to offer furnishings, fixture, case goods, and accessory recommendations with a purchasing option without you having to pay a design service fee. Why not just link to products you love using an affiliate program?
Affiliate sales are not set up for the little guy (another spoiler: I am the little guy) and are based on volume sales. I make pennies even if you click on the link AND purchase the product.
Why are some of the items offered out of stock or have long lead times?
Item availability changes frequently but I do my best to source items that are in-stock or have shorter lead times. Unfortunately the pandemic (and recent storms) have put a hit on production and the supply change, so plan ahead - the NHOS Collections are probably not the best option if you needed new dining chairs yesterday.
What is the cost of shipping and delivery?
Sidedoor eliminates the need to ship to a receiver. Shipping costs run about 15% of your total order, shipping directly to your home. Make sure you keep that 15% in mind as you shop.
What if an item arrives damaged?
If an item arrives damaged (this happens with interior goods, unfortunately) Sidedoor will work with you and the trade vendor to get a replacement provided as soon as possible.
Can I return an item to Sidedoor if I don’t like it?
No, you can only return/exchange items that are damaged.
I stick to a strict budget and usually shop at Home Goods or Target for furnishings and accessories, will you ever offer more lower priced options in your collections?
The NHOS Collections aim to offer elevated style and quality and include to-the-trade products I use in full service client projects. The furnishings/items in the NHOS Collections usually run along the price lines of a bigger retailer such as Crate & Barrel and I am always sourcing items that can easily mix & match with your existing sentimental pieces. You can and you are welcome to shop elsewhere even if you get ideas from the NHOS Collections. I am a very small business and please know any furniture investment you make through the NHOS/Sidedoor partnership is headed right back into the local economy.
