When we built our house, I probably spent the most time choosing the lights. I think, like big earrings (which I am a huge fan of too), lighting is a way to make a statement in a space without throwing everything else off. I also love the range of lighting available to fit any budget so it doesn’t feel like an out of reach update to make to a room. Go ahead and replace those builder grade boob lights already! And support a cool small business while you are at it (I love Sazerac Stitches & One Forty Three).
